Nathalie is a pioneering Virtual Reality creator/producer and a globally recognized consultant, lecturer, and public speaker. A former NASA AI scientist and visual effects artist, she combines her artistic passion with a solid scientific and technical background to explore new frontiers in Virtual Reality storytelling and embodiment. Nathalie is the founder of NativeVR, an independent VR studio in California focusing on creating immersive experiences with a transformative and social impact. Lately Nathalie is also developing programs that foster awareness and embodied skills for resilient leadership and systemic change.
Her interactive VR film UTURN, a comedy raising awareness on the gender gap in the tech industry, was nominated for best interactive experience at the Raindance and FIVARS festivals and screened at a dozen international film festivals. Nathalie worked on more than 40 VR projects as director, producer or post-prod supervisor for Google, Facebook, JauntVR, Condition One, World Vision, etc. In 2013 she contributed to Zero Point, the first 360-stereo documentary made for the Oculus Rift headset by Condition One. As Jaunt’s Director of Creative Technology from 2014 to 2016, Nathalie post-produced 360-stereo videos like Paul McCartney in concert, The North Face Climbers, and The North Face Nepal. She recently produced The Friend VR with artist John Sanborn and director David Lawrence (Inside Covid19), which was exhibited at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Germany in 2022.
Previously , she worked for major animation and visual effects studios in France, London and Vancouver, as one of the few female VFX artists on feature films. Her credits include Cannes award-winner Persepolis, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, Les Miserables, Captain Phillips and Fast and Furious 6.
Nathalie has taught VR & Immersive Media at UC Berkeley, Drexel University and University of the Arts. She was an invited speaker and panelist at Gatherverse , AWE, Oculus Lanchpad, IVRPA, Mill Valley film festival, Nuit Blanche, Tech Inclusion, Women in Tech Symposium, Empowered Women Leadership, etc.
Nathalie holds a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the National School of Space and Aeronautics in France, and an M.A. in European Media from the University of Portsmouth, UK.
